Itinerary
Fes - Ifrane - Midelt - Merzouga
We start early from Fes, driving through the scenic Middle Atlas. We pass the ski resort town of Ifrane and stop in Azrou's forest to watch wild Barbary monkeys. After a lunch break in Midelt, we cross the High Atlas and drive down the palm-lined Ziz Valley to reach Merzouga. We stay the night in a traditional Kasbah hotel next to the golden dunes.
Sahara Desert Exploration & Camel Trek
A full day to explore the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. We drive off-road to visit a nomadic family and learn how they live. We visit Khamlia village to experience traditional Gnaoua music and enjoy a local Berber pizza lunch. In the afternoon, ride camels across the sands to watch the sunset, and enjoy dinner and music in a luxury camp.
Merzouga - Todra Gorge - Dades Valley
Wake up early to catch the desert sunrise. Ride camels back to the village for breakfast and a shower before we set off. We visit Erfoud to see fossil crafts, and drive to Todra Gorges to hike along its towering cliffs. We spend the evening and night in the beautiful Dades Gorges.
Dades Valley - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech
After breakfast, we travel along the Valley of the Roses to Ouarzazate. We explore the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a fortified clay city that served as a set for films like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. We cross the High Atlas Mountains through the panoramic Tizi n'Tichka pass to reach Marrakech in the evening.
