We pick you up in Tangier (port or airport). We take a brief tour of Tangier's historic sites, including the Caves of Hercules, and then drive south into the Rif Mountains. We arrive in Chefchaouen, the famous Blue City, in the afternoon. Enjoy the evening wandering its quiet, blue-painted streets and squares.
Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes
After breakfast, we travel to Volubilis to explore the historic Roman ruins and beautiful floor mosaics. We continue to Meknes, another historic imperial city, to see the Bab Mansour Gate and Lahdim Square. In the afternoon, we arrive in Fes, checking into our traditional riad.
Fes Guided Medina Tour
A full day dedicated to discovering Fes. Our local official guide leads us through the ancient walled city of Fes el Bali. We visit the famous Al-Qarawiyyin University (oldest in the world), the Bou Inania Madrasa, the iconic Chouara Tanneries, and the Mellah (Jewish quarter).
Fes - Cedar Forest - Ziz Valley - Merzouga Dunes
We travel south from Fes, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains. We stop in Azrou's forest to watch wild Barbary monkeys, and proceed through Midelt. We cross the High Atlas, descend into the Ziz Valley palm groves, and reach Merzouga. Swapping our vehicle for camels, we ride into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi to spend the night in our luxury camp.
Merzouga - Todra Gorge - Dades Valley
Wake up early to catch the desert sunrise. After riding camels back to Merzouga for breakfast and a shower, we depart the Sahara. We drive through Erfoud and reach the spectacular Todra Gorges, taking a walk under its vertical rock walls. We then proceed along the Dades Valley for dinner and our hotel stay.
Dades Valley - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech
We drive along the Valley of the Roses and the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. We visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a fortified clay city that served as a set for films like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. We cross the High Atlas Mountains through the panoramic Tizi n'Tichka pass to reach Marrakech in the evening.
